Life in Kurdistan in My Point of View

Dlvan Zirak, Kurdish, Iraq

My dreams are to study for master ( I’m not sure if I will ever be able to achieve this dream, but I will do my best.) I also want to be one of the known writers around the globe. The dream that I have achieved is that I was able to publish a book. It is by far the thing that I’m most proud of.

My support systems are my family and friends, the support I get from them is what made me be able to write and publish a book. My motivation for following my dreams are those who already made their dreams come true, those who started from scratch, and those who faced hardships and failures but didn’t give up!

I feel like I am walking in a circle, nothing changes, every day is the same. Money isn’t everything, nor does it buy happiness, but I think it can help me reach a couple of my dreams. I love my city and country. I love the citadel, it is one of my favorite places plus Sami Abdulrahman park in Hawler (Erbil). The nature of Kurdistan is beautiful, it is beyond imagination. What I love about us Kurds is that we are really friendly people, and we have a great hospitality. What annoys me about my culture is that the society is judging us, it makes us double think about every move and every step we make. In my country, you don’t live for yourself, you live to please your surrounding. If I could change one thing about my country, it would be the mentality of our people.
