Summer is here and the heat can be unbearable. One of the things that I like and can help me go through the heat is some refreshing drinks during these few months. And in general I enjoy making drinks so I have decided to show how I make those drinks (most of them), along with sharing their pictures. Share this post with your family and friends so that they don’t miss it. Enjoy this post and the drinks if you decide to make them and I’d like to hear/read your thoughts about them. Let’s get started!
Fresh Lemonade

For this drink, all you need is lemon, sugar, ice, and cold water. Zest the lemon, then coat the zest with sugar. After that, squeeze the lemon and add the juice to the zest + sugar. Then add cold water and ice and stir. The amount of each ingredient needed for this drink is up to you. There is no right or wrong, all based on your own preference.
Peach Juice

Let’s get peachy with this fresh drink! To make this one, you’ll make two mixtures. For the first one (the one on the top), you need sliced peaches, a little bit of juice of your choice (I used pineapple for this drink), ice cubes. Mix these in a blender and you have the top layer drink. For the second layer, I used mixed berries juice and strawberry syrup. Once both are ready, pour the second layer then the first layer. If you want to make drinks with different layers, keep in mind that the layer that goes to the bottom needs to have more density than the drink that’s at the top so that it can carry it. And that’s why I used strawberry syrup.
Milkshake

Milkshake is one of the easiest things to make. You get ice-cream and blend it with milk and that is it. You can choose any ice-cream flavor to make a milkshake flavor that you like. You can also use vanilla ice-cream with your favorite fruit or your favorite snacks and cookies, like Nutella, Oreo, chocolate bars, etc. Again, it’s all based on your own preference. Just make sure that the ice-cream should be more than the milk to give it a thick texture. And keep in mind that not all fruits are suitable for milkshakes. The last step, add your whipped cream and decorate it the way you like.
Watermelon Juice

I recently learned how to make this yummy watermelon juice and I am loving it! Cut the watermelon into cubes and throw them in the blender with ice cubes. Then add water, if you like the drink to have a thick watermelon flavor you need a little water, if not, you can add up to one big drinking glass. After blending, you either run the mixture through a strainer or no, again personal preference comes into play. Then add some fresh lemon juice, stir it, and it’s drinking o’clock.
Lemon Mint Juice

This juice will refresh you on those summer days and it’s also easy to make. Squeeze your lemon/s then pour the juice into the blender. After that, add your fresh mint with a little bit of water and some ice cubes then blend. And voilà, the juice is ready. You may have noticed that just like other drinks, I haven’t specified how much of each ingredient to use because it depends on what you like. Making drinks shouldn’t be very complicated.
Frappuccino

Blend your instant coffee drink with milk, a little caramel sauce, and ice cubes, or freeze your instant coffee drink (like I did) and then blend it with the ingredients that I mentioned. After that, add some caramel sauce to your cup/mug, then pour your drink and finally, cover it with some whipped cream and caramel sauce. Yum!
Summer Mocktail

Basically, for this one, you’ll need fruits and soft drinks of your choice. I like to go with a clear drink like Sprite or 7up and a flavored drink that has color to make my drinks have summer drink vibes. You squash your fruits, could be: cherries – strawberries – lemon – grapes – etc. Put them in a glass. I also added mixed berries juice and a little bit of strawberry syrup to my squashed fruits, then added some Sprite, followed by the Freez’s Blue Hawaii flavored drink. As you can see from the picture, different colors! And as always, add a few ice cubes for extra coolness.
Iced Tea

Instead of drinking hot tea during summer and feel more heat, here’s an iced tea that you can enjoy. What I did is I brought a drinking glass and added a very tiny amount of sugar, then added the cold tea. Wait, it doesn’t end here. I had squeezed a lemon and added that juice to the tea alongside some ice cubes and a slice of lemon. Then stirred it and drank it. If you don’t like lemons that much, squeeze half a lemon or less. Your drink, your choice.
Iced Coffee

I saw this recipe a while back, and I’ve been using it whenever I crave iced coffee. This one is also based on personal preference and you can add whichever you like more, and can take out what you don’t like. Mix ground coffee, instant coffee, and cocoa powder with water. Add milk and ice cubes to it, then stir! And that’s it!
Banana Smoothie

Last but definitely not the least, good ol’ smoothie, and probably the drink that I usually run to. Not always the same flavor though. For this, you’ll need milk, banana/s, and whatever flavor you like, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, nuts, etc. There is no right or wrong way to make it. You can also freeze your fruits in advance. Blend banana/s, milk and your preferred flavor/s and you get yourself a very fine drink. Note that, the more banana, the richer the texture will be.
